Punchneedle embroidery stitches, unlike traditional embroidery,
are worked on the back side of the fabric. The loops of thread
produce a plush design on the underside (the front). The finished
effect may be fine and delicate or thick and heavy, depending
upon the size of the punchneedles and thread used. Russian
punchneedle embroidery generally refers to the delicate designs
produced with a tiny needle and a single strand of floss.
Our punchneedles are still crafted by hand to achieve the
same effect. Add more sizes of punchneedles and almost any
woven fabric can be stitched with a punchneedle…. giving
